homemade cat food and raw food diet!
September 17, 2008 by noa & ash.
meow
it’s getting cool in here!
we got a call from the vet last week, and all results were negative..!
that means, ash had allergies, probably food allergies, because soon after we’ve fed
the low-allergy foods to her, she’s slowly stopped to scratch her face.
after research of raw and homemade cat food diet, (i still need more to learn about it,
and
if you have any good recipes of homemade cat food,
or good fresh quality meat markets in Manhattan, please let me know
!! meow!!)
these are a few of foods that i’ve served to noa & ash.
this is
boiled chicken and broccoli

noa & ash:
gimme gimme!!

noa: ew!

ash: something new.. hmm.. i still can eat!

maman: try it, noa! you must love this chicken, i cooked for you!!
noa: mm… if you said so..
maybe i can have a few bite..
ash: yum yum
(she’s my kitten!)

i’m still afraid to give them raw meats, there is no fresh meat store around our neighbor,
and i’m not sure if it’s okay to serve a packed meat from markets.
we found this “Nature’s Variety Raw Frozen Diets”

noa & ash had never ate raw meats before, they need to transition slowly..

i’ve mixed small amounts of it into their fav wet foods.

noa & ash:
WET FOOD yes! yes! YES!!

noa: what’s this smell?! AWFUL!!

maman: can’t you eat this
? this is your no.1 wet food! right
??
noa: nah, this is not my wet food, i don’t belive you, give me other one
!!
ash: hm… i still can eat this, too.

so… as you see.. ash is more open to new food diet than noa.
it’s good, because ash is the one who had food allergies,
for noa, i’ll give her verRRRy slowly transition then..
she’s so stubborn
it’s a long way to get lid of dry food addicts!

meow ❤ soap
April 13, 2008 by maman.
i have recently purchased dr. bronner’s magic soap, and very impressed with it..
i use this liquid soap as a shower gel, and i love it!
i also use it as a shampoo, i don’t even have to use a conditioner anymore.
now i’ve been using it as almost everything! as a facial soap, even as a dish wash, too ^^!
it’s a wonderful multipurpose soap. no chemicals!

i have allergies and sensitive skin, so i use “baby mild liquid soap”
which contains no fragrance!

for papan, he prefers using a bar than a liquid one. he uses a lavender soap bar.
the aroma is pleasant. i tried it last night and it didn’t dry out my skin nor irritates ^o^!
i love the way our bathroom smell after a shower with the lavender soap!
maybe i can try a “rose” soap, too.. i’m glad i found the soaps..! yey =^v^=!!

love 100% natural
January 6, 2008 by maman.
since we changed cat litter from chemical product to 100% natural pine wood one,
even though, this new litter doesn’t contain any chemical stuff,
it works well to remove odors,
and helps with my allergies, we have no complain about it!
but… you know, right after when noa and ash DID it,
we can tell they DID it (^_^;)
to get rid of smell, we open windows and burn this candle for a few minutes.
it’s really a great candle and also 100% natural from ORIGINS!

PART 04: fighting cats allergy the natural way!!
December 21, 2007 by maman.
a good quality humidifier is good for an allergic person, like me (-_-;)..
but you need to keep in mind that some humidifiers make your allergies worse,
dust mites and mold like high humidity levels..
so when you chose a humidifier,
you’d better do some research to see how it works for you.

the air in our home is very dry during the heating season,
it causing sore throats and noses,
and dry skins, and a humidifier is crucial!!
we owned a different company’s one last winter,
it was so hard to clean, and leaked… (>_<)
we threw it away at the end of last season... (x_x)

we did some homework to find a better humidifier for us.
this new one, Medisana Ultrasonic Personal Humidifier, works great so far.(=^v^=)
it’s very compact, so don’t expect it to adequately humidify a large room though..

by the way, since we got a salt lamp and changed to the all natural cat litter
my cat allergy is getting better!!!

PART 03: fighting cats allergy the natural way!!
November 8, 2007 by maman.
this post is about cat litter.. if you are eating or drinking, you may want to skip it

i was only concern about cats hair. i groom noa & ash, clean up rooms,
and run a HEPA-filter air cleaner.
yes, these simple things help reducing my cat allergy problems very much.
i’ve never think about cat’s litter brand before.
papan always clean and change their litterbox. he keeps clean it very well.

but, when i think of the timing i feel sick is often after he cleaning it up.
we use deodorizing clay based cat litter,
which contains chemical to help mask the smell and produces silica dust.
it’s not seem like a huge deal, but it may be.. so why not try using natural litter!
from last week, we’ve changed to all natural litter, feline pine scoop.

noa and ash are not used to the smell of pine,
they are now on a slow transition into using this new litter.
then we still need to use the old brand litter to cover it.
“after 3 to 4 changes, all cats adjust”, hopefully noa and ash can take it, too
and we can stay away from deodorizing cat litter.
